On Saturday I went to a baby shower for one of the daughters of Brendan’s boss. Rather than purchasing something from the few shops here, I sewed my gift (also appropriate for September as National Sewing Month!).

September: National Sewing Month
I hope everyone’s machine is happily humming away in celebration of National Sewing Month. Mine certainly is. The first thing I have made this month has been a super cute ruffled apron!

More Lanyards
My sewing circle (and English teacher friends) decided to tackle lanyards. I made each one of us a cupcake lanyard for our school IDs and keys. This way my sewing circle friends can remember me when I’m in Michigan.

Fold-Up Shopper
This weekend, in addition to the lanyard, I made a fold-up shopper. The pattern came from my new handbag book.

New Drapes
Since I finished the quilt for our bed, I’ve needed to change the drapes. I thought it would be more cost effective to purchase pre-made ones, but when I saw this bold graphic black and gray fabric at Wal-Mart for $1.50 a yard, I had to have it.

I was pretty productive this week with Jeanette’s Little Red Riding Hood quilt. Woohoo!
Once I had all of the squares cut, I sewed them into strips of three.
