Spring Wreath

09 Apr

I was feeling crafty and hoping Finna would allow me to change out my holiday/winter wreath for a pretty spring one. She really didn’t want to share my attention, so my wreath was done in five minute increments. There was even a time I was nursing her and artistically placing flowers in the grapevine at the same time. I/m looking forward to when she can entertain herself a little bit.

It was worth the effort, I think. The wreath and flowers came from my first visit to Jo-Ann’s in literally months! I even bought some fabric though I’m not sure when I’ll get a chance to sew… The bow is actually from one of Finna’s baby shower presents.

And here’s a gratuitous Finna photo:

Fabric Nativity

30 Dec

This fabulous fabric nativity was made from a panel I bought at Jo-Ann’s earlier in the season.

I used plastic canvas as the bases and quilt batting scraps for stuffing. I love how it turned out and I think the cupcake will enjoy playing with it in the years to come.

Love,

Tiff

Travel Bag

16 May

I made a trip to Ohio this past weekend to see my beautiful Mom for Mother’s Day. Mom and Dad generously flew me out to Columbus, which was a perfect opportunity to sew a travel bag using this tutorial I found online.

Popsicle Placemats

04 Apr

I found this Popsicle print at Jo-Ann’s and just had to have it.

I decided it would look cute as placemats and sewed them on Sunday.

Tulip Block

05 Oct

I’ve attempted my first block from the Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt book.

I’m pretty pleased with my results. There are a few seams that don’t quite line up, and I’m not completely happy with my decision to use a different print for the center pinwheel instead of the same fabric for the background, but I’m fairly content with my first attempt. My plan is to make a few different blocks with a selection of Fall-esque fabrics that will become a tablerunner. Time will tell. . .

Love,

Tiff

P.S. Fabric: center feather print fabric came from Portage Lake Quilt Shop in the U.P.; cream “lace” print is a FQ from Jo-Ann’s; red is possibly from Jo-Ann’s and a remnant of the quilt made for my mom; orange “kaleidescope” is a FQ from Jo-Ann’s

Lee’s Wallet

06 Jun

After seeing the wallet I had made, Lee requested one and pointed out a few fabrics at Jo-Ann’s that would be acceptable to him. I went with Blue Angels and modified the wallet pattern by halving it and adding a flap with a snap. Ta-dah!
