Brendan and I were wed in holy matrimony just a mere four years ago today. I can scarcely believe I’ve been so blessed to have my best friend at my side for these past few years.
But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you.
Or to turn back from following after you;
For wherever you go, I will go;
And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
And your God, my God.
Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The LORD do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me.”
Ruth 1:16 & 17
What is going on with all the crazy M&M’s? Brendan and I liked the strawberry peanut butter ones, and we recently saw pretzel and cherry M&M’s at Kroger.
Of course, I had to buy a pack of each. It’s my duty as a chocolate lover.
I noticed an old advertisement while walking in the park.

Royal Crown Cola
It totally worked because I would love an R.C. right now.

Brendan and I had dinner last night from the best barbecue place. Where is this little gem? Oh, it’s an old gas station in the heart of Maryville, TN. Yep, you read that correctly. We ate at Full Service BBQ.

Look at what I found at Hobby Lobby for $0.75:

a shoe shaped cookie cutter!
Has anyone seen these at Wal-Mart? They look/sound crazy, but they are delicious and worth every penny of $0.64.

Yeah, I know we just started spring, but Brendan and I finally bought a grill! We haven’t had one since our first apartment.

Brendan: Grill Master
Yesterday, a friend from church called me and asked if I fished. I told him, “Well, I like to, but I haven’t in a long time”. “Well,” he says, “do you want to go with me tomorrow?” Needless to say, I accepted and spent yesterday evening getting myself ready…filled up the car, got my hunting/fishing license, gathered some snacks, etc.
I woke up this morning at 6:15 and quickly got myself in the car and over to Archie’s house to help him get the boat hooked up to his truck and get the bait and tackle prepped. He lives less than 5 minutes from the boat ramp he uses, so we were in the water by 7:15am and had the rods out by 7:30. Read the rest of this entry »
Brendan and I had a wonderful weekend. I baked more sugar cookies!
Brendan and I went to our church’s (West Hills Presbyterian Church of America) Festival of Carols last night. Our sanctuary choir performed with the Knoxville orchestra. The music was beautiful! The program consisted of “O Come, All Ye Faithful”, selections from Handel’s Messiah, “Joy to the World”, “The Angels Rejoice”, “Away in a Manger,” “Mary, Did you Know?”, “The Lord’s Prayer”, and many others.
I adore Christmas songs and listening to them with an orchestra was even more amazing. I kept my eyes closed and let the music wash over me as I reflected on the reason for the season. It was so special to hear such beautiful hymns and share them with my husband and church family.
When we got home, Brendan and I snacked on sugar cookies and drank hot chocolate.
What a lovely way to wrap up the weekend.

Tiff
