I know my cupcake has a plethora of blankets, but I just couldn’t resist making her one more . . .

We are still somewhat searching for a nightstand for Brendan. In the meantime, I sewed a pocket organizer for his iPad, book/magazines, and remotes. Ta-dah!

There is shelf-liner that goes between the mattress and the box-spring.

I found this fabulous sprinkle print at Jo-Ann’s and knew it would be perfect for the cupcake’s dresser top. I wanted to protect the surface of Ikea’s pressed board and figured this smaller subtle print would be a good backdrop for the cupcake’s little socks and bows and I wouldn’t have to worry about them getting “lost” on a larger print when I’m dressing her.

I love the bright blue binding. I think it pops against the brown and the white. The ribbon came from Hobby Lobby.

Don’t worry, a full nursery reveal is coming soon!

I found a Moses basket in the clearance section of Kohl’s for $20 and couldn’t resist buying it. It had blue and brown bedding with an embroidered sailboat. Thankfully, I can sew my own custom bedding.
Ta dah!

Using a tutorial online, I made a nursing cover.

I love the boning across the top so I’ll be able to keep an eye on the cupcake. I’m wondering if my fabric choice is a little too crazy conspicuous for something that is meant to conceal/provide modesty, but it matches my bag!
As a side-note, I’ve started sewing “labels” (just various loops of cupcake ribbon that I own) into my projects (when I remember to). I think it adds a nice touch.

This past weekend I made my diaper bag. I used a pattern from a book that I got for Christmas three years ago. If the bag looks vaguely familiar, that’s because I’ve used the pattern before for a coworker’s diaper bag in the U.P.

My gorgeous fabric came from Hobby Lobby.
With a Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon, I bought a dark brown tablecloth for the changing table in the nursery. It now hides my little stash of diapers and wipes that are under the table. (Notice the baskets are now all lined with cupcake fabric. This one holds burp cloths and receiving blankets for now.) A coworker gave me the pretty frame.

I whipped up a glittery cupcake table-runner from my fabric stash.

I still need to get a changing pad for the table, but it’s nice to see the little details coming together.

I stitched up a few more pretty burp cloths for Baby Girl. I used basic Gerber cloth diapers, a fat quarter that’s been in my stash for literally years, and some animal shapes that I had cut out while working on my circus mat and was still living in the U.P. (Baby Girl, do you have any notion of how much I’ve wanted you, and for how long?)

This book panel came from Jo-Ann’s.
