For Valentin’es Day Brendan had a dozen roses delivered to me at work. They are so pretty and such a unique assortment of colors.

He also gave me a pretty sterling silver rose ring.

He’s the best!

One of the local banks has an annual train display. Brendan and I stopped by to see it on the 21st.

We went with red and white lights and hung a variety of ornaments. I realized I could do multiple (smaller) tree themes: trains/cars/planes, shoes, birds, carousel horses, Star Wars, or Rudolph. I like them all together though, at least for this year. I bought several silver bells at the dollar store and hung them on the tips of the boughs.
Brendan and I chose a bitterly cold (16*) morning to get our Christmas tree. We took the F250 for easy hauling of our tannenbaum.
Happy December 1st! Brendan and I started our Star Wars Lego advent calendar this evening.

How are you counting down this year?

I think it’s no secret that I love fabric. I usually have no qualms about buying yardage even if I don’t have a particular project in mind. However, holiday fabric does give me pause. I love how cute and pretty some of the prints can be, but I do hesitate (just a little) to purchase any because I really have no clue what to do with it. This being said, I still have a decent stash of Christmas fabric. I knew I couldn’t—-and didn’t want to—make multiple stockings or quilts, but I couldn’t think of anything I would want to make. Until I thought about the “green” movement and got an idea: reusable gift bags!
I’m just using fabric I already have in my stash to make these pretty lined drawstring bags using this tutorial.
I decorated a new grapevine wreath for our front door.

I used red berries, a chipper Cardinal, and some printed ribbon with floral wire and my trusty glue-gun. Cinnamon scented pinecones were daubed with vanilla paint to look like snow. I purchased everything from Michael’s. I can’t wait to do something to my stair rails, too.
Happy decorating!
