Well, our plans of riding the motorcycle were premature as Old Man Winter sent us another snowfall.

I had a 30% off coupon for Kohl’s this weekend and ended up getting some awesome silver glittery Keds.

There are no words for how cool they are and how pleased I am with my find.
I also got some stud earrings: most in my jewelry box are dangling.

Gotta love Kohl’s!

Via Pinterest, I found a fun hair-style that I wanted to try. It’s a braid that goes across the back of your head leaving your hair down.

For Valentin’es Day Brendan had a dozen roses delivered to me at work. They are so pretty and such a unique assortment of colors.

He also gave me a pretty sterling silver rose ring.

He’s the best!

Well, after much searching, cajoling of salesmen, and driving hours to look at basketcases, I finally bought a motorcycle. I haven’t had my own bike since Tiff and I were dating, when I had a Honda Nighthawk 750. That was a great bike, and Honda always has made wonderful motors.
We’ve been saving for a number of months now to buy a bike for the riding season this year. Both Tiff and I were determined to have a bike, although dad has been generous in letting us use his bikes over the past year. Still nothing compares to having your own ride, plus there isn’t the additional mental overhead of “this isn’t my bike”.
So without further ado:
Dad would often ask us girls, “What makes a girl pretty?” and we would reply, “Jesus in her heart.” I decided to sew a book based on that exchange for my little niece’s birthday.

I had so much fun gathering girly fabric and embellishments. Excluding the “binding,” each page is six inches square.
Mom and Dad Knapp gave me a beautiful wrought iron quilt rack for Christmas. It lives in my living room where it currently displays my Caer Sullivan quilt and the shoe quilt that Grandma Leibbrand made for me for my high school graduation.

The linen ship fabric is from Ikea and will some day upholster the back of a bench we bought at the Woodstock Antique Mall.

Thanks, Mom and Dad!

Two of my greatest loves combined in one awesome souvenir! Mom and Dad Sullivan brought back this chocolate shoe from their cruise/vacation in Florida.

The chocolate is tinted pink! And the “pearls” are sugar.

Brendan and I used vacation days on Friday so we could go to the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. Our tickets were half-priced thanks to coupons compliments of BP. We took the Metra and then a taxi (my first time in one!) to the convention center. It was one of the actually cold days of this winter; we even saw snow! There were a ton of cars to ogle and/or sit in:

For February, I have my ceramic cupcakes displayed on my dining room table with an aqua tablecloth.

On the dreary winter days, it’s nice to see my sweet and cheerful tabletop display.
