New Headphones

09 May

Well, after a good long service life (for daily use), my Sennheiser PX100′s have developed a bad connection somewhere in the signal cables. :( Makes me very sad, as for the price, I’ve never had a set of headphones that combined so much quality, comfort, and portability in one package. I use/used them almost exclusively over the “in-ear” type headphones due to the comfort; Also, a decent set of ear-buds costs more than I’m willing to spend on set of ‘phones to which the kinds of abuse portable headphones are subjected. Friend’s t-shirt design – Emotional Sundae

04 May

A friend of mine (Matt), designed a pretty awesome t-shirt and submitted it to threadless for possible production. Please vote for it because 1) it’s awesome, 2) he deserves it, and 3) Ice Cream is the best dessert ever.

It’s not approved yet, but you can possibly improve the odds by using the Facebook “Like” widget on the right.

Now GO AND DO MY BIDDING!

(also, see his art blog here: http://mattsynowiczblog.blogspot.com/)

Another new theme

29 Apr

I liked the old theme fairly well at first, but the more I looked, the more problems there were with it…especially in Firefox and Chrome, and especially Firefox and Chrome on Linux.

UNACCEPTABLE

Here’s a new one.

Vote for Mountain Dew Distortion

20 Apr

Vote for MTN DEW(R) Distortion(TM) - Dewmocracy.com

If you haven’t yet tried the new Mountain Dew flavors, you need to go out and see which one you like.

Distortion is definitely my favorite at this point with Typhoon being a close second. White Out is *meh*

I know we have a few Dew drinkers in the family, so get out there and try one (or 3)!

Spring Break: Illinois – Part Deux

04 Apr

This is a bit on the late side, but Tiff has been bugging me to write a little something about the rest of our trip to IL. So, here’s some pictures, because each one is supposedly worth 1000 words :D

Spring is officially here…Fishing day

30 Mar

Yesterday, a friend from church called me and asked if I fished. I told him, “Well, I like to, but I haven’t in a long time”. “Well,” he says, “do you want to go with me tomorrow?” Needless to say, I accepted and spent yesterday evening getting myself ready…filled up the car, got my hunting/fishing license, gathered some snacks, etc.

I woke up this morning at 6:15 and quickly got myself in the car and over to Archie’s house to help him get the boat hooked up to his truck and get the bait and tackle prepped. He lives less than 5 minutes from the boat ramp he uses, so we were in the water by 7:15am and had the rods out by 7:30. Read the rest of this entry »

Playing with a redesign

20 Mar

I’m messing with the theming on this site as I really don’t like the current one. So bear with me if you see things changing around for a couple days.

More shooting

20 Mar

This is going to be mostly pictures as I type enough during the week and I’ve got a few other posts to write. Tiff finally got to shoot the Savage MkII I bought for her. There’s a problem, though, she actually loves it! After I sighted in the scope and gave it to her, I almost had to pry it out of her hands to get a chance to shoot it again :D

Spring Break 2010, IL : Part 1

19 Mar

We had an amazing trip to IL this past weekend. Tiffany had her spring break so we drove up to IL Friday evening after work. We left about 2pm EST and proceeded to drive through almost 4 hours of solid rain. After getting past the rain around Lexington, we made decent time through the rest of Kentucky and Indiana, just hitting a little more drizzle going through Chicago til we got into Woodstock about 11pm CST.
