Jelly Roll Sampler Quilts

03 Oct

I purchased a new book for my sewing library from Jo-Ann’s (one of my favorite ways to use a 40% off coupon): Jelly Roll Sampler Quilts.

The patterns are for lovely quilt blocks using 2.5″ fabric strips (Jelly Rolls). By cutting with a right angle ruler for half square triangles, or a ruler for flying geese blocks, you can create complex looking designs.

Now that I’m a better sewist, I appreciate the more traditional quilt blocks and no longer feel *quite* so intimidated by them.

I am very excited about this book. I’m anxious to try it out with my new .25″ seam allowance sewing foot.

Love,

Tff

so i got really excited about this post when I saw the words, “Jelly Roll” and thought it might be an ode to the days of yore when we learned that they were deceitful (ask Jeremy).
Hope you and Brendan are doing well. : ) Katrina

LOL. Oh I know how Jelly Rolls are deceitful. They look good for me, but they aren’t!
