Back in Tennessee, I bought some holiday fabric from Hobby Lobby. I finally found some coordinating cotton here in the UP to start a quilt. The blue, cream, and brown is from Wal-Mart. The winter scene, cardinals, snowflakes, and pine-cones came from Hobby Lobby.

I think instead of a “Christmas” quilt, it will be a winter quilt since nothing is overtly Christmas. That way I can use it for the entirety of the UP’s long winter season.

Will this quilt be as big as the one you made earlier for your bed? Will it be heavier? I guess you have your down comforter already for warmth. You are so ambitious! I need some of that. I’m still talking myself into making the little decorative quilt out of the matching material you left me. :}

I was only planning on making a lap quilt, but a new quilt for the bed is an interesting idea…. Unfortunately, we don’t have a feather comforter, “just” a feather bed. Someday we hope to get a comforter, too.

i am amazed that you can put all of those different colors and patterns together and imagine a quilt.. I can not wait to see what it looks like! All of the fabrics you chose are beautiful reflections of the season : )
