Mini Quilt

26 Jun

Lately I’ve been seeing mini-quilts online and wanted to try my hand at one. They are a great way to practice new techniques. I wanted to work on my appliqué skills and make my own binding, so I thought a mini quilt was the place to start.

"Tiffany's Toadstools"

Last week, I whipped up this little mini-quilt, “Tiffany’s Toadstools” in less than two days.

It was fun using fabrics in my stash and drawing up pattern pieces for the little mushrooms. This project also had me practicing my free motion quilting.

I love the loops

The binding is tiny (lesson learned: bigger is better), but I like it so much better than the ready-made stuff.

My quilt may actually be too big to be considered a mini, but it looks cute on our table. I have it hanging in our office right now above my fabric cabinet. And I can imagine it someday being on my sewing studio wall. Wouldn’t that be glorious, a sewing studio?

Love,

Tiff
