DDMworks Twincharges an Ariel Atom
DDMworks is one of my favorite companies ever. Dave has sold me a few parts from his company and I’ve always been more than pleased at the quality and value of the parts and service I’ve received.
He apparently has gotten into tuning Ariel Atoms which I was, until now, unaware of. Glad to see he’s getting a bit of well-deserved time in the spotlight. This car looks obscenely fast. 375 wheel horsepower and 1375 lbs? That’s Bugatti Veyron levels of power-to-weight ratios.
I hope I can get a ride in this car sometime

Hi! I have a kia just like yours (though here in Peru it’s called cerato, not spectra) and I’ve been planning to change the OEM speakers, so your tutorial has been very useful. Just wanted to thank you and ask you if you had already installed the new speakers and how you managed to make them fit. Thanks again.
Fausto
Fausto,
Thanks! I’m glad you found the tutorial useful. Unfortunately I have not had time to get the new door speakers in. I would, however, suggest trying a layer of 1/2″ or 3/4″ MDF and cutting it to match the shape of the original speaker. The spectra/cerato needs about 3/4″ for MY speakers to clear the window when it’s rolled down. Not sure which speakers you have, but you may need more or less clearance than mine.
Enjoy, and let me know if you successfully get them installed
